After tooth decay, periodontal disease is the most prevalent oral pathology. 

In addition to being widespread among the general population, it is important to note the serious effects it may cause, either orally, with tooth loss or halitosis, or the impact it can have on general health. 

In its most severe forms, it is related to the onset and evolution of diseases such as diabetes, especially type II, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or possible adverse pregnancy outcomes. 

With its VITIS^® gingival products for the prevention and treatment of gingivitis, VITIS^® is launching a campaign in 2018 to foster awareness of how important it is to not ignore bleeding gums, which could indicate the onset of periodontal disease and the consequences that entails.
