DENTAID AT THE SEPA MEETING IN SEVILLE

The meeting of the Spanish Society of Periodontics and Osseointegration (SEPA), which took place at the Seville Exhibition and Congress Centre, welcomed over 5,000 dentistry professionals to the event, which was organised in four parallel meetings: SEPA Periodontics, SEPA Hygiene, SEPA Management and the ExpoPerio exhibition area.
DENTAID took the opportunity to present its latest oral health developments. The Perio·Aid® brand announced that from May on it would introduce its latest product, the new Perio·Aid® 0.20 bioadhesive gel, at clinics.
The new VITIS® children’s product line, for all ages, aroused the interest of those attending in an area dedicated to offering details on each of the seven formats that make up the range.
Likewise, the VITIS® sonic electric brush, Waterpik® water flossers, VITIS® gingival and Perio·Aid® ranges, along with all other products in the company’s catalogue, were present at the DENTAID stand.
At the same time, the company showed its commitment to science and scientific research by sponsoring different scientific lectures by renowned professionals including Drs. Jan Derks and Giovanni Salvi, who addressed the clinical management of peri-implant diseases, Dr. Patricia Solano, who spoke about comprehensive dental hygiene in children’s dentistry and Dr. Francisco José Enrile, who focused on new technologies for basic periodontal treatment.
Health Alliance Symposium
Coinciding with the SEPA Meeting, the Health Alliance Symposium also took place and was hosted by representatives of a multidisciplinary working group formed in 2016 by members of the Spanish Society of Periodontology (SEPA), the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) and the Spanish Society of Diabetes (SED), together with sponsoring brands Perio·Aid® and VITIS® gingival.
Its goal is to show the close relationship that exists between oral health and general health in different life stages.
During the Symposium it was announced that new lines of research are being generated on the systemic impact of periodontal disease, as well as protocols of action from each discipline.
DENTAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN “TAKE CARE OF YOUR GUMS”
To increase social awareness about the importance of dental hygiene and the implications of gum health on general health, a dental health campaign, “Take care of your gums” was carried out in the Santa Justa sta-tion of Seville over the three days of the meeting.
